Love songs

Hey, Jess here! Have you ever  wondered why there are so many songs about love? Whether they're sad or happy, there are countless of them. Well, I know that I have wondered. And I think I have found an answer that satisfies me. This may sound a little fairytale-ish, but in my opinion love actually gives power. Though, not something as magical power or muscles, but strength within. But sometimes this strength from the inside can turn into actual physical strength. We all know those moments, even if it's just in a movie, when someone goes to great lengths for someone they love. And maybe fairytales aren't such a bad example. Remember how true loves kiss can break any curse? Of course there's some magic involved, but love is a magical thing? To be honest, I still don't know how love works. I still don't know why I love my boyfriend so much. I know what I like about him, of course I do. But why I feel this strongly about him, I don't know. I mean, I've b

Random character design

Hey, Jess here! A little while ago I did a character design. I got the idea from Draw with Jazza (you can find him on Youtube and he's great!). But instead of using an app or other people's suggestions like he does... and is able to, I made a lot and I mean a LOT of small pieces of paper on which I wrote random words. After I wrote a word on the paper, I folded it and marked it with a color. The color indicated what kind of word it was. For example: yellow was the setting (fantasy, sience-fiction, etc.) and blue was the atribute (sword, book, etc.). After I had done that, I put them all together in a box and randomly picked a few together without having pieces of the same color. This way I got something I thought I was really fun to draw and I know I wouldn't ever have come up with it myself. So the words I had were: "Egyptian", "Unicorn" and "Scars". So what I was going to draw was an Egyptian unicorn with scars. Then I started out with so

Great news

From: emojibase.com Hey, Jess here! Today I'm a lot later than I'm used to be and wanted to be. But I Do have a good reason for it! Today I had the dreaded practical exam (which I've mentioned earlier this week if I remember correctly). I was certain I had completely screwed up the entire thing, but I was wrong. And I can't remember ever being so happy about being wrong. So without any more stalling: I'm graduated!! I'm finally done with school! So for now I will take some time to relax and maybe I will start to sleep a little more. The last few weeks, and especially the last few days, I have barely slept. But this also means I can take more time to spend on my articles. I would really like to be able to put more effort in them. So now I will have the time to do so =) I'm really sorry that this is such a short article, but I just had to share the news real quick. And because it's dinertime where I am, I'm going to get myself some fo

I found a hair in my... story?

Hey, Jess here! I have to say I'm not vain. Sure, I do care about how I look and I like to look nice (like, uhm, everyone?). But I don't wear a lot of make-up, I don't buy expensive clothes and I don't use any products (except for shampoo of course). But actually there is something I care about: my hair. I know my hair isn't the prettiest, but I do love it... and sometimes I hate it, haha. I am not the most confident one when it comes to my appearance. I call myself ugly more often than I call myself pretty. But when my hair fits well, I like looking into the mirror. Really, my hair can either break me or make me. What I mean is that, when my hair doesn't fit the way it should, my whole face seems to look horrible. While, when it does fit well, even I think I can look pretty. And even if I don't give it the care it should get (I can be lazy, don't judge!), I care so much about it. That's exactly why I don't like going outside in rainy and

What's up?

Hey, Jess here! At first I wanted to talk about my latest addition to my Art Gallery. This one --> It was for a contest actually. The theme was a combination of the Lord of the Rings and the Harry Potter universes. The quality of the picture isn't really good, but it's in fact the best one I could get. I didn't win the contest because there were people who made really awesome things, so it's natural they won. But I still had a lot of fun drawing this one. I had some help from a friend who's really into Harry Potter. I absolutely love Lord of the Rings, but I just don't know much about HP, so it was really helpful to work together. She actually came up with the basic concept =) Speaking about drawing, I'm working on a comic. It will consist of a few pictures everytime that will become a longer story together. So they won't be a small story everytime. I don't have much yet, but I'm working on it as much as I can. Which is kind of hard at

A Smiting Game

Hey, Jess here! This time I am going to bother you guys about something I know I might be going to talk too much about. As I said, I like gaming. And usually I prefer games with a story in it. That's why Assassins Creed is my absolute  favorite game(series). But I also love the Uncharted and Mass Effect series for example. Another game I have been playing for years, is actually one without a story. Well, it kinda has stories, but not in the gameplay. I know this sounds vague, so from the start: The game is called 'Smite'. It's an online game you can play for free. It is highly similar to the well known 'League of Legends', but there a few differences that make Smite a lot better in my personal opinion. The most important thing to me, that you play as gods and other deities Screenshot of one of the gamemodes from all kinds of pantheons. (If I remember correctly, you play as heroes in LOL). But with these gods, also come stories. For every god in the game

"A Street Cat Named Bob" Book review

Hey, Jess here! I just had a huge spider in my room. I know I said that I love animals, but spiders not so much. At least not the big ones and especially not in my room (I don't want them making a nest). That doesn't mean they have to die if you ask me. No I just get them outside, that's all. But! On to what I actually wanted to talk about: Some may have noticed that I have read this book quite recently. And I really liked this book, so I will say something about it. Maybe some others will get interested too, that would be great. I won't be going into the story much, because I don't want to ruin anything for potential readers. "A Street Cat Named Bob" As the title may suggest, it is about a cat. But not just any cat. The author is in fact also the main character in this story, well, the human main character, haha. This man, James, is the one who finds the cat, Bob. But it could also be said that it's the other way around. James has no idea wat h
