"Assassin's Creed; Renaissance" Book review

Hey, Jess here! I thought it would be a good idea to go through a series instead of going between different books from different series. And because I did an Assassins Creed book last time, I will do this series first. So Assassin's Creed; Renaissance is also written by Oliver Bowden and it was released in 2009. This was the first Assassins Creed novel Bowden has written. The story follows Ezio Auditore da Firenze, the protagonist of the videogame the novel is based on. It mostly follows the story well and so it is basically an retelling of the videogame. This also means that in this novel there is no 'different way' of telling the story (as I have explained for Assassin's Creed; The Secret Crusade ). But there are also some differences between the game and the novel. The most important difference is the lack of present day scenes. Those who have played the game know this, but for those who haven't: in the game there are present day scenes. In these sce

How I started playing Assassins Creed

Hey, Jess here! I am not sure if I have mentioned it before, but I'm a huge fan of Assassins Creed. In fact it's my all time favorite games series and I don't think that will ever change. But ther has to be a moment when I started playing it right? Of course there is and I wanted to tell you about it. When I was 15 or 16 years old when I finally got some real friends (like, people who actually cared for me and didn't just use me) and so I also met my best friend. I don't know if he would like me to say his name, so just to be sure I won't. But at that point I had barely ever played games before. I did have a Nintendo DS, which is now a very old version, but I only had it for Nintendogs (oops). Later I started playing other things on it, but that's a story for a different time. My best friend and another friend were real gamers, haha. They came together just to play games and since I was their friend now, I also came. But at first I was only watching

"Magnus Chase; The Sword of Summer" Book review

Hey, Jess here! At the moment I'm reading the second book of a series. So before I finish (and review) it, I wanted to do a review on the first book of the series. I did have to refresh my memory a bit, because I've read the first book over a year ago, but I think it will be fine. Also: once again I don't want to go to much into the story itself to prevent any spoilers. If a spoiler does occur, I will mention it beforehand. So let's begin. "Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard; The Sword of Summer" So this series is one of the many Rick Riordan has written. I think most people don't know his name, but when I mention Percy Jackson, I'm pretty sure it rings a bell. The series of Magnus Chase is the fourth series I'm reading and I have love all of it. If anyone is interested in reviews of the other series, I'm more than glad to do it. So as many of you might expect, the series is about gods, the Norse gods to be exact. And also not very un

How I started playing Pokémon

Hey, Jesse here! My boyfriend and I share almost everything we have. Everything I own is also his and everything he owns is also mine. Of course this has its boundaries, we don't use the same toothbrush for example. But everything like books, games, and all those kind of things, we share. That's why I am able to borrow games from him every now and then so I don't have to buy them. I am currently borrowing Pokémon Mystery Dungeon; Gates of Infinity. At first I wanted to play another game of the Mystery Dungeon series, but that one was newer, so I decided to play it after this one. But because of this, I thought it would be nice to talk about how I started playing Pokémon in general. It actually started out in a way that makes you think there's no connection at all. But bear with me and it will all make sense at the end. So I was an animal lover for as long as I can remember and as a child I always wanted a pet. (I still do, by the way.) But my parents didn't want

God research: 4. Kukulkan

Hey, Jess here! Back with another god research. I do like doing random gods, so I keep on doing it. But if there are any requests, feel free to ask me. I'd really like that! For now, I'll be discussing Kukulkan. Unfortunately there isn't much known about Kukulkan, but I'll try to do it with what I could find. Kukulkan is a Mayan god who is also known as Quetzalcoatl in the Aztec culture. His name literary translated to "Feathered Serpent" as "kuk" means "feather" and with the adjectival suffix "-ul" ("kukul") it means "feathered". Then, "can" means "snake" and combined it becomes "feathered snake". https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons /d/d9/YaxchilanDivineSerpent.jpg The origins of Kukulkan are among the Maya of the Classic Period which is from 200 AD to 1000. At this time he was known as Waxaklahun Ubah Kan which means the War Serpent. Later he became the V
